You don't wear heels when there's snow. The more I find my real personal style, the more I keep coming back to my tomboy side. Were you that little kid that climbed on every tree, didn't care about looking right, just have fun and doing your thing? I was!

You don't look better when you wear heels, you look better when you are confident in what you wear. But never be afraid to make mistakes. You have to make mistakes when you want to find what you really like. Let me tell you, I made some mistakes myself. There are hardly any mornings where I wake up and am completely satisfied what I'm wearing. The outfits I'm most comfortable with, are the ones that I throw on without thinking properly.

I kept finding my style in what others would think of me. Wearing sneakers in my teenage years I don't actually liked, wore them to show the world how frustrated I was. I wore super high heels every single day, just because I liked the wrong attention. I stopped doing this. I stepped away from trying to find my personal style in someone else. I like to wear flats. I like to wear shoes that are comfortable. Don't judge a girl by this.

Spring I'm ready for you

01. Do I need to say more than how perfect the light is in these pictures? The sun makes my pictures at least ten times more awesome. I got this flower jacket about a year ago, but this is about as far as I get with mixing prints. I'm not so sure about mixing five different prints together. I'll leave that job to Susie Bubble. Is anybody ready for Spring to come? I love the fact that we have different seasons, but nothing beats a sunny, warm evening stroll.

02. Today I got to pick out clothing and shoes for a fashion market Overdose.am is hosting. Which was so much fun! I've always wanted to be a fashion stylist and I'm definitely thinking about doing a study after mine's finished. I got to go through brands such as Dagmar, Opening Ceremony, One Teaspoon, Muuba and many more! They were from previous collections and I was overwhelmed by the low prices. 03. Wedding preparations are doing good! We've been to a place in Holland called 't Gooi, and looked at some pretty cute churches. This Saturday we have a meeting at a possible dinner and party place; next to the water! Pretty incredible. Plus it's a great place to shoot some wedding pictures aswell.. lots of green, the sun shining in my face, walking through the summer breeze.

The 'secret' behind outfit pictures

This spontaneous smile came right after I felt uncomfortable. Every smile has a story behind it. Mine wasn't so deep today. Make sure your photographer is quick to snap these moments. It's better to take the time, be yourself, than to fake moments like these. It has to feel organic and it has to feel like you.

Look around. What other beauty is there to find? Zoom into random objects. The closer the better.

A shot of your face doesn't always have to be the front of your face. Try to move and dance with your head. Then think of happy places you could be at the moment.

E V E N T If you put about 20 bloggers together in a space full of fashion.. what will happen? As a dedicated intern at PUP Amsterdam I was pleased to see one of our puppers Eva Bartels painting pictures of us! The day started with us getting a badge, mine said Supermodel. Not sure if they thought I was 10 centimeters longer, but we ended not doing much with it. I had the ultimate chance to design my own G-Star shoe, but it caught me off guard and I ended up having zero inspiration. I also had the chance to explain what I thought about the day on camera; now I'm curious how it turned out. Thank you Tess from Unlimited PR for inviting me!

P A R T . III I know technically you can't see my shorts! But it's still part of my denim challenge or I rather should've called it 'how to hide your denim shorts'. You know there's something appealing about throwing everything on you see first in the morning. It gives you that out of bed look without trying so hard. There's a couple of pictures I cut out of this post, with the strong wind I somehow felt the need to open my mouth and try to fly. How do you like my denim challenge so far? Fashion week proves all along that it's OK to wear open toe shoes when it's heavily raining outside. Who cares. Who cares your outfit looks more like Mickey Mouse than Mickey Mouse himself. Just wear it.

I know I've been a little bit off with my blog schedule. That's why I'm here to give you a week update mixed with my outfit post. My latest post about how to make an outfit post was real success! I'm thinking I should do more quality posts, instead of bombarding you guys with same old same outfit posts. What do you think?

O N E Got to share some good news. The boyfriend/fiancé is back home. He's getting better by the day. Could not been more excited to hear he got to go home. I felt so much relief, yet reality had to sunk in. It's not like he can run a mile or be all back to 'normal' at once.

T W O Not taking care of myself took its toll. I got really sick. Fever, stomach cramps, bad headaches, and all the gross details I won't share with you. I always have too much on my plate, but I find it hard to set my boundaries with work, school and church. I just really want to be there for people; but my body definitely told me a lesson..

T H R E E Wedding update. I found my ultimate, dream weddingdress! Before I went searching for a dress, I absolutely did not want a princess poof dress or anything strapless. But guess what I went for.. exactly! The ultimate fairytale princess dress.. and it fits me so well! If I may say so myself. The weddingdress contract has been signed, sealed, delivered!

F O U R And golly! I have so much fun work to do at my internship. Running around through beautiful bits of Amsterdam, be at meetings with inspiring people, Biking through the canals.. O U T F I T
How did we grew from taking pictures in the mirror into taking pictures that look magazine worthy? Let me take you through a couple of things. Does a killer outfit give you ultimate outfit picture power? We've built this awesome blogger community where we can't seem to give each other enough compliments. Do you like every single outfit of the bloggers you follow? Would you wear it aswell? I'd say most of us would say 'no' to that. Then why do we like their outfit pictures so much? It's not all about the perfect outfit. PS. Are you lost with what to wear today.. Have you not seen my outfit routine post?

B E . Y O U R S E L F
Don't push yourself into something you don't actually like. Your confidence comes from who you really are. Blogs are way more interesting if they show a bit of personality. The blogs that I follow and have really great outfit pictures, even when I don't pertically like their style, the person behind the blog is usually really confident in their own style.

C A M E R A
Is an expensive camera necessary to take good outfit pictures? It definitely helps, but it's not necessary. Even famous blogger Elin Kling doesn't usually have the best quality photos. The person behind the camera is way more important than the camera itself. If you're not gifted with photography skills; there's no need panic. But I do have to admit that the skilled person behind a camera makes a huge difference.

SECOND | tips & tricks

L O C A T I O N
Location is important, because you want the best natural light you can get and more variety the better. Both for taking pictures inside and outside it's important to have enough natural sunlight. A clean white wall is the best for inside. A tip for outside is to find a backround that's not too chaotic. More tips.

1. When you don't have an experienced or creative photographer, you have to do most of the creativity yourself. Start by finding a spot that's close to home. Your garden or inside.

2. Don't force it. Choose a location that's comfortable at first and don't worry about people staring at you when you start taking picture in a crowded place. No one will blame you taking a picture.

T A K I N G . P I C T U R E S

Experiment with different angles and make mistakes. Without mistakes you cannot learn better.

1. Full body picture (horizontal + vertical)

If you want to look longer, let the photographer squat down. If you don't want to look longer, let the photographer just take a picture standing.

2. Detail shot (usually horizontal)

A detail shot, means zoom in with your camera. The closer the better.

4. Face shot (horizontal)

Don't forget your beautiful face!

M O D E L

The three key words for being 'model-cool' are movement, learn to gracefully jump and knowing when to stand still. With movement I mean either go for really subtle movements, think of dreamy wonderland and just smoothly slide while you're being photographed. Or make harsh movement like a dramatic face expression. Sometimes you just have to ignore the camera and just go with the flow. Just act like you would without a camera pointing at you. Be yourself, be natural.

The key to gracefully jump is to not think too much, just jump. The lower the jump, the better. When you're walking while photographed, go with your emotions and look into the camera for a few moments to capture the beauty of silence.

I know a lot of these tips are well-known, but it's somehow different when you actually share them. If you know what I mean. I hope this will help you have a guideline when taking outfit pictures. First I want to thank Rosalie from Press Only for this opportunity. I had the privilige to interview Derya Issever, one of the designers of Berlin label Issever Bahri. She was extremely nice and humble. And her own style was impeccable to say the least. We sat comfortable on a couch and with her smile I began the interview. I was wondering if she'd ever been to Amsterdam before. She has been to Amsterdam before, but never for business. This was the first time she was here for Fashion week. It is time for Issever Bahri to be known by the Dutch audience.

In 2010 the label was launched. In that same year they won the “Young Designer of the Year Award” during Berlin's PREMUIM fashion fair. It struck me how fast they were known by the Berlin audience. Derya tells me that getting the award made them really start the label. A previous collection was also published on Vogue.it. "Cool!" Derya answers excited. "The next step is on the cover of Vogue Italy!". She tells me that press really helps. They've seen how quickly news about their label spreads.

Avant-garde designs where creativity plays a big role. The Alexander McQueen generation. Do bizar and outrageous collections do better? Because they're more of a hype? Or do the classic, wearable pieces do better? "It is both." She says. And continues with a genius answer to the why question: "You've got to make pieces that are special to wear, it should always be a mix between outrageous and wearable pieces, you have to ask the question what do I want to look like? The idea of a collection or a look is more outrageous, the collection itself is making that idea into something more wearable."

I really liked her vision about how she sees different fashion styles in different cities. Milan - chic, New York - sleek. And Amsterdam? Down to earth but chic. Good news! She definitely sees the collection being sold in Holland. Dutch clothingshops.. keep your ears open.

And then the most anticipated question. What's the inspiration behind the label? This is where both designers Derya and Cimen were going back to their roots. Turkey and Greece. Both born in Berlin, but their grandparents came to Germany in the 60's. They learned handcrafted techniques. But the key is that you don't see that a garment is handcrafted, it looks like something new. It's always edgy and cool. They use different fabrics, like leather and crochet, and combine them together. The label is also sophisticated with an edge. Like Isabel Marant, feminine but not girly. The real inspiration comes from the day to day architecture they've seen in Istanbul. The Turkish word is Gecekondu (click for explanation). Like the architecture, the collections of their label has different layers.

If you think of Berlin, you think of the city of art. More of the rougher streetwear. It has only been about two years that high fashion labels got taken more seriously. Even the editor of German Vogue pushed young and new designers to launch their label. And last but not least, I asked her if she has any tips for young and new designers. This is what she said:

"Be passionate about what you want. It's really hard work. We also have other jobs next to this. It's taking it step by step. The goals is to establish a label national and international. Financially it's hard. What may surprise you is that the business side of your label is more important than your inspiration and ideas for a starting a label. But mainly it's just passion and the love for something."

J A N U A R Y What do I say when I look back at January? Ask me how my week was and you'd probably have to wait a minute to get an answer out of me. Like every month there are ups and downs. My up was that I get to go to my very first Amsterdam Fashion week shows. I've let previous seasons pass by me, but this year I really wanted to go for it. And you'd probably know what my down was this month: my fiancé going to the hospital twice and the second time an operation was needed. Stay dreaming, stay strong and everything is going to be alright. So freakin' cliché but I love it. PS. Guess what I'm doing today? Here's a hint.

Goodbye Fashion week, hello hospital..

L I F E Remember I told you in this post, my boyfriend/hubby-to-be went to the hospital? He stayed there for a night and the doctor told him he could go home. But yesterday it got really bad and there was only air in one of his lungs. Which means he couldn't really breath properly. Now he's back in the hospital and he needs a lung operation. I was at Fashion week when I heard he went back to the hospital, got there as fast as possible. Thomas is my number one priority. I really want to take care of him and want to focus only on him. I feel so sad and almost helpless seeing him in a hospital bed. -sigh. Just wanted you awesome readers know what I'm up to. Jacob Kok glow in the dark outfit

J A C O B . K O K Jacob Kok was the winner of the Dutch version of Project Runway 2011. We got these flashlights to light up during the show and you got this really cool effect! The helmets were sicck. I think the shows that aren't as much of a 'hype' are way more interesting, because I like how he told a story with the show and his collection. Even though it's not particularly what I would wear, the models, the hair, the whole vibe deserves a huge compliment.

So different from the serious faces I saw all day long. I want to quote Marloes Blaas: "Making wearable clothing for women inspired on long forgotten functionality and details." What I like about this collection is the details on the looks. A well made collection that didn't got lost in too much creativity and inspiration. It's well made and it's wearable. Can I have that black dress with the cut-out in the back, please?

M O D E F A B R I E K Yesterday I went to the Fashion Factory in the RAI in Amsterdam. I really had an awesome time: from an exclusive fashion show, going through all the exhibitions, hanging and meeting bloggers and other awesome people, exchanging a whole lot of businesscards, to actually interviewing one of the designers behind Issever Bahri who also showed at the Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion week last Saturday! Crazy times, good freakin' times.

S O M E W H E R E I know what you think. This doesn't really count as an outfit post. I totally agree, but what can I do. All my full body pictures were really not ok. I don't want to post too many pictures, but I don't want to put just one picture. But I have to be satisfied with the way the picture are presented. I have to admit that I take way too long deciding how the order of the pictures should be. Like Susie Bubble said. My blog is like my little baby, if I don't feed it; it'll die.

L I F E Friday night my boyfriend went to the hospital. I have never really known anybody close to me that went to the hospital before - I got the weirdest feeling and thoughts over me when I heard he went to the hospital; so freakin' weird to see someone you absolute love in a hospital bed and with the breathing-thing in his nose and all - to make a long story short he has a lung disease called 'Pneumothorax' (click for explanation). It comes out of nowhere and you can't breath anymore. He went to the hospital for it 4 yours ago aswell and stayed there about one and a half week. I just want to take care of him now; but it frustrates me I have to study like heck for upcoming exams. It also made me realize how fragile life is..

F R I D A Y Today the sun was shining so bright and I could actually feel the warmth of the sun. But before I could take any outfit pictures, I had to run some errands. Quickly grabbed my camera before the clouds were too heavy. Can you tell I have any lipstick on? Probably not, because my search for a nude lipstick colour is finally over. I had such a love and hate relationship with finding the right lipstick. I'm not really fond on make-up anyways, but I like the look of wearing a nude lipstick.

M O N D A Y I think it's never okay for someone to feel alone. Everybody wants to be in peace, feel happy and enjoy life; with no responsibilities, no worries and no negativity. But with great power comes great responsibility (~~spiderman~~), right? Positive and negative are really close to each other. What are your big dreams and goals for this year? Without failure, you can't learn from what you've done wrong, so you can't grow, which means you won't be able to reach your dream or goal. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't try, things will stay the same as they are.

Live a little and don't fear, because everything is going to be alright. You are everything you need to reach that goal. Don't wait for the next 'big thing', don't wait until you've saved enough for that designer bag, don't wait until 'you are completely ready', don't wait for someone else to be the first one. You will not be more satisfied whenever you will wait for the 'perfect time'; because there is no perfect time. Perfect does not exist. You are perfect.

Things always happen for a reason. The feeling when you just came home from a perfect shoppingtrip, got a really high grade, got promotion at work, or you just had the most amazing day.. and then. When you get home. Something terrible, horrible, bad thing happens. What do you do? Drop everything, be sad, forget every positive thing that happend earlier? The secret about this situation is that you should face the bad thing that happened. Deal with it, but be humble and reasonable. And then. You will experience the most amazing opportunity will come along at the right time, at the right place. I promise.

The answer to your life question is most of the time really simple. It does not lay somewhere in a hidden, secret corner. It's a yes or a no. Not a maybe. It's either in or out. It's everything but depressing or anything negative. It has everything to do with you being an amazing, awesome, everything you can be person. I know you can do it. Believe it. I'll be your biggest supporter!

T H U R S D A Y I got so lucky finding this hat. I love finding gems. I'm sorry I keep changing my blog layout. But don't worry, I'm definitely settled for this one. I N S P I R A T I O N It sounds so cliché but its not. It's super necessary when making your outfit. I don't share a lot of my inspiration and where I get it from. Thats because I dont want to bore you with inspiration thats been posted too many times. Check Studded Hearts for this. But after reading this article on IFB, I've realized how important it is to keep being myself and show my personality. I've got a whole lot to share and I feel like I've been holding it back. I'm about to burst out; my creative self wants to get out please. But stay focused.

I live in a fast paced world, don't have too much time to think about my outfit in the morning, but always find myself in a dillemma; wanting to have a good and awesome outfit but with a time range I have in the mornings, I'm just not satisfied.

Besides the runway and editorial pictures, I get most of my inspiration from various tumblrs (you got to find the right tumblrs where you can scroll down easily and where pictures are posted that are actually innovative and interesting). My favorites are: We fashion it, Wall of sound, What do i wear?, Fashionlove, Simple but tasteful, Lipstick linkin' and Dolce vita.

U S E . B A S I C S You need basics. With basics I mean clothing pieces with no print. The main colours for basics are grey, white and black. You can use your basics with everything. This means T-shirts, turtlenecks and jeans.

I N V E S T Don't know what to invest in? Are you all confused and cluttered up with all this inspiration and don't know where to start? Here's a tip for you! When you have checked your basics off of your list; it's time to invest in some pieces that will make your outfit super awesome really easily. Invest in good quality: 1. blazers (white, printed, black), 2. jeans; snake, leopard, isabel marant-inspired prints. 3. shoes (this means heels, wedges, flats, boots)! and maybe a dress aswell. Though I think dresses are super overrated. Choose a dress that's not so typical prom-dress like. Accessoires are also a must for those who like 'em. I don't usually wear a lot of jewerly. I would say: clutches, hats and belts are an instant perfect touch to an outfit.

O U T . O F . T H E . B O X You can use the same clothing item more than once per week. People will not remember you wearing that same belt or same top last week, at the same time, same place. Don't be afraid to just wear it. Don't start by thinking of a complete outfit. Start with one item (a bag, jewerly, a top, pants etc.) and think what would complement this one item. And if you do want to copy a whole outfit; don't be afraid to do so imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Another way of starting an outfit is to think of a colour and make your outfit based on that colour. Think the opposite of what you're usually thinking.

T H E . P E R F E C T . O U T F I T When you found your inspiration sources, let your instinct and your true self lead your way through the pictures. Are you more of a tomboy or more of a girly girl? do you prefer being comfortable or do you love being in tight tight everything? Don't pick anything just for the sake of having a designer bag or just because a celebrity or famous blogger has the same item. If you don't love it, don't buy it. Think fun, playful and just go for it. Spice things up with not so ordinary colours you might love like mint green. The most attractive thing about someone's outfit is you! Be yourself. Personality shines through.

N E W . Y E A R Waow! what a year. Which outfit is your favorite? Another year has passed and so much has happened. Here are a couple of my highlights this year..

My blog has grown to be something I absolute love. My drive, passion and creativity for making cool and rockin' outfits has grown aswell. I've taken my photography skills to another level and I'm absolute smitten when going through the end results. My blog has also tremendesly grown this year in love from my readers (700+ followers)! I was featured in a big Dutch Newspaper SP!TS, I got an amazing internship offered at PUP Amsterdam; close to my dreamjob! I got to participate in a big blogger project called Blogger's Wardrobe I got an all expenses covered flight and shop till I drop to Germany with New Yorker and most importantly, I got to meet so many amazing people. I especially want to thank my readers for your massive support and your always sweet comments! You make my blog more 'alive' and super awesome. Goodbye 2011 and hello 2012! It's going to be so good. I can already tell. Now, everybody have a rockin' New Years Eve! heck yeah!

I will definitely be stocking up my basic tees and simple but classic clothing pieces. Timeless pieces are an absolute need in my wardrobe. Björn Axén is the strongest brand within Swedish haircare, the company has nearly 50 years of experience with professional haircare. I don't use a lot of hairproducts for my hair, I just wash it, dry it and done. But it's definitely interesting to find out if I can use any of their products for my hair. "Their focus is to bring out the best in each client’s individuality and this is also expressed in their range of styling products." More info here

GESTUZ

Gestuz is a Danish fashion brand founded in 2008, creating a universe with feminine, sexy and wearable styles, always with a touch of rock. "popular, high-profiled but reasonably priced clothes at the best quality." This brand is right up my alley. I definitely have a little rock chick in me. And I just heard Gestuz is showing in AIFW! Can't wait to see the clothing in real life and come alive on the catwalk. More info here

BJÖRN BORG

You all probably know Björn borg. At least, in the Netherlands their underwear is extremely populair. Underwear is their core and largest business area. As I always have a hard time finding the right underwear, and end up spending my money on clothing instead of new underwear, this is definitely a key brand to have in the webshop. More info here

ELECTROLUX

Electrolux is a global leader in household appliances and appliances for professional use. "The company focuses on innovative products that are thoughtfully designed, based on extensive consumer insight, to meet the real needs of consumers and professionals." I will be moving in with my hubby to be next summer so I will definitely be needing some appliances to fill our brand new house. More info here

HEART OF LOVIKKA

Heart of Lovikka is a new name in ladies’ fashion, creating beautiful knitwear with inspiration from the century old knitting tradition in Lovikka. With the winter season there's nothing better than a good knit to keep me warm. The fabric that Heart of Lovikka uses really intrigues me. More info here

NUDIE JEANS

According to Nudie Jeans, there's no fabric that ages quite as beautifully as denim; the longer you wear your jeans, the more character and attitude they acquire. "We don’t just offer jeans. PILGRIM

Pilgrim was established in 1983 by the two Danes Annemette Markvad and Thomas Adamsen. In the early years they traveled around Denmark selling jewellery in the streets and at rock festivals. Swiftly their business started to grow and evolve into the international company Pilgrim is today. I always love to hear stories behind brands and designers. Pilgrim is one of those brands where the founders are still very involved with the company. I think that's really important as to where your roots are. More info here

TIGER OF SWEDEN

Tiger of Sweden is an old brand, started in 1903 in Uddevalla, a small town on the Swedish west coast. The brand has its foundation in a strong confection tradition and solid tailoring skills refined for 107 years. Tiger of Sweden works in close collaboration with the best fabric mills available, developing its own fabric designs that create the brand’s uniqueness. I like how on trend, yet so unique, the clothing, accessoires and shoes are. Just watch one of their catwalk shows and you'll be sold. More info here

NEWS. Welcome to a new addition to my blog. This is my first post about the ins and outs of Blogger's Wardrobe and my honest opinion about it. I really want to give you, as a reader, an honest view on my journey with BW. If you don't know what Blogger's Wardrobe actually is, you can click for general information about BW.

I'm actually kind of surprised not a lot of the participating bloggers seem to give their public opinion about BW. I think BW gives me an unique chance to be part of something big and super exciting. Not just as a blogger, but as a creative person myself, I trust in the BW team. I think that mistakes are bound to happen when you're preparing something huge. Step by step we'll get there. It's not mistakes that will decide your future, it's how you move on and grow from them.

As we get handed more and more things as bloggers, I think we can get spoiled really easily and can get used to being spoiled really easily. And there's nothing wrong with being more business like with the way you handle your blog, but smiling can't hurt. And maybe we get caught up to a certain blogger lifestyle that really isn't attractive at all. We shouldn't expect everything be taken care off and shouldn't be upset when i'ts not. Am I not cool enough when I jump up and down at a chic dinner when I'm super excited?! If I want to jump, I'll jump. Instead of being bitter or jealous we should support each other. I mean opportunities will follow when you have trust. I think BW gives structure to the chaos of this blogger-brands-world.

I feel like the luckiest girl when I think of the amazing idea and team behind BW. They are super hard workers and deserve a huge compliment! I wish I could give them a real life hug. It just makes me wanna be even more part of it. And get creative, share ideas and help Blogger's Wardrobe into a blogger revolution.

THURSDAY. It's 5AM in the morning and I can't sleep. I have the worst cold and I can hardly breath. As long as I'm not sick; I'm all good. For you following me on Twitter got to see my early Christmas gift. I'm so freaking happy with it. I'm listening to the radio right now (Q-music) and precisely on 7AM it's going to be officially winter! Can't wait to make little snowangels.

My hair looks way much lighter in all my pictures than it actually is. I think it's the light. This coat is from two years ago, but I think they sell this coat every single winter. I'm not really sure about the cut, I wish it would be a little bit wider and not so tailored when you close it.

Right now it's time for a good, long and hot shower. Get dressed, get some breakfast and I'm ready to go. Waaa can't believe it's almost Christmas. Love you Jesus! I'll be celebrating it 5 times. My Christmas already starts this Friday! woo. What are your plans? Tell me please!♥

This is actually a set of pictures I didn't edit. Au naturel. Though you never see the process, cropping & editing the pictures, I thought I like it this way better. A reader already mentioned I should change up my backround, I wish I could! This piece of fence in my backyard has the best light in the gloomy, rainy, cold weather this season. Or else all my pictures will turn out super dark or really.. ugly.

I try my best to be a little bit more creative in my poses. But as my sister is still trying to figure out her camera skills; I have to be kind of behind the camera and infront the camera at the same time.. + our schedules never really matches, so I will only have 30 minutes to shoot a couple of outfits! I hope you understand. It somtimes turns into a stress-chaotic-wirlwind-clothes-all-over-the-place situation. But I definitely make it work. I promise I will be even more creative next week.

And once I have saved up enough for a brand new camera that doesn't weigh 10 kilos, I will be able to take pictures when I'm out and about! ohh.. what a dream. I can't wait. Happy Tuesday my lovely readers!

Hello my honest.. reader. Where to begin and where to end. I am definitely not blessed with a family fortune that backs me up whenever I make mistakes with money. Am I allowed to talk money? Or is that a big no-no here in the Netherlands? I’m born here, lived here all my life; don’t even know if it bothers people. I guess I have a hunch that people don’t like to talk about it..

Just as I feel like.. there’s a huge fashion gab between Dutch culture and American culture. Going to work with the bus and I see a man wearing a tutu; you see that in Los Angeles and it’ll be fine, see that in Holland and people will give you the stink eye and/or are scared to ask what’s wrong with you. And even when you’re wearing heels that are 5 inches too high, I feel this immidiate tension of people telling me that I’m too overdressed. Girl. Even I think the same things when I see a girl with the most unusual shoes. What? I can’t help it. Or can I?

Yes, I do think some people are spoiled.
Yes, I do think some people are fortunate with fabulous fashion friends that seem to come out of nowhere.
Yes, I do sometimes think gosh she has pretty wavy hair; I wish I could borrow it for one day.
Yes, I do sometimes think what to wear today?
Yes, I do sometimes think what the value is of clothing versus family/boyfriend quality time and why I spend so much time on my blog.
Yes, I do sometimes judge a blog by its cover.
Yes, I do sometimes worry when people are more interested in earning more *ka-ching* than staying true to themselves.

But this all does not mean.. I should be mean, bitter and jealous towards people or the world and it does not mean I should give up my passion. Perfect outfits will come to you, perfect clothing pieces will come to you naturally. Don’t push it. Opportunities will follow if you’re willing to let them in. Watch out! Here they come.

EVENT. I had so much fun!! A black carpet was waiting for us, people were already waiting in line, but we got to go inside first for a little eco-tour. Everything from the lights, floor & energy is eco friendly. There were yummy drinks, a live-band, an awesome DJ, funny people. Wanna take a picture but forgot your camera?! There's a flippin' photobooth in the store aswell. I feel like the Pull & Bear collection is like an entire Zara collection combined together but with a lower price range. Can't get any better than that? I got the most amazing snake-printed jeans with a gold zipper. love! A big thank you to SPICE PR for the lovely night.

Words cannot describe how much fun I had. Such an unbelievable day; I felt like a celebrity for a day! I got picked up from the airport, got dropped off at a very chic and beautiful hotel, an envelope was waiting for me in my awesome room, went straight to the city to go to the biggest New Yorker store. Shopped till I dropped!! had lunch at a nice Italian restaurant, went to the most fanciest hairdresser called NOON. Got my make-up done, went for dinner in a chic and classy restaurant and then to a super chill loungebar to end the night. Can you believe it or what?! But most importantly, I met wonderful, funny and awesome people! I want to thank New Yorker for such an amazing day.

I would.. like to thank Raveena from Pink Lemon Sorbet and Silvertigo from Handmade dreams of mine for both tagging me with the tell me about yourself award. Therefore I will tell 14 things about myself.

Hard work.. really pays off. Don't give up, that'll be your biggest mistake. You are so worth it. And now.. put on the most beautiful smile and work even harder.

Accept change.. Instead of fighting something you can't change, accept that there will always be people wanting to hold you back from your goal. People change, but you will change aswell. And there's nothing wrong with that.

I think.. there's a time and a place for everything. Trust in people, trust in life. There's nothing more unacttractive than an unacttractive attitude. Chill, relax and it'll be okay.

Life is.. not simple. Embrace your very own life and go live it. Love the challenge.

EVENT. What an amazing experience it was. I had such a blast and I'm so glad that I got the opportunity to be in the last 12 candidates out of about 1000 girls and boys. Such a glamourous day with hair/fashion/make-up stylists, a lot of press and filming, a catwalk coach etc. All the other girls were so awesome and soo sweet, we had a blast before the show started.
